If your SUV/car doesn't have a center headrest
how do you turn the seat to face front? I want to turn DD's carseat around but I have no center headrest and DH and I are way too scared to put her on the sides. Honestly, I might just be an idiot, actually I hope I am, and there is a way to do this.

When we turned her seat around, we just put moved it so it was behind the passenger seat. It fit better there and it was easier to get her in and out of it.

We did the same with DS.
The sides are just as safe

I thought you needed the headrest to secure the seat?? If you dont, then that is where I was confused.

DD#1 has not been in a carseat for a long time and DD#2 is still rearfacing, but I do not recall needing a headrest to be forward facing.

The headrest plays no factor in a forward-facing seat. It doesn't matter if it's there or not. As long as the car manufacturer says it's OK to have a seat in the center, then go ahead.

we have ours in the middle with no headrest...I don't think it matters whether or not there is a headrest.

Thanks everyone. I have no idea why I thought that you needed to have a headrest. Sometimes I just amaze myself with the things I come up with
