We just ordered solid and we against mesh the whole time.

While it doesn't let debris into the pool it can still turn green. Rain water lowers the PH of the water and then the PH is low the chlorine doesn't stay. Add to that, the sun still get into the pool.

I was online at Leslie's one day last year talking to the guys waiting online since we all opened our pool and he had a mesh and he said he hated it. He said it is alway a problem the beginning of the season.

My neighbor has a solid cover and it is closed blue and opened blue. Just make sure you estimate with a solid cover comes with a cover pump.

when i got mine there was only mesh available (thats how long ive had it). If i had a choice i would have gotten the solid.

I did purchase a solid black cover that looks somewhat like a solar cover except black and much thicker and heavier weight plastic that is put in the water b4 the loop loc is put on for the winter.
My pool is closed blue and is opened blue.

B4 i purchased this i would close my pool blue and open it green. it would take almost 2 weeks of constant filtering to bring it back to normal. (i have a gunite if that makes a difference)

Where's the best place to get a good price on one? Our solid one got damaged last winter. Thanks.

We are finally getting a loop loc this year I am so excited!!! Last year during the blizzard I was trying to rig something with ropes to keep the cover from falling in. Plus they make the yard look a 1000 times neater. So basically thank you for asking this.

I was told the solid one still has a mesh center. Will the pool still be clean when I open it?

I called two places for an estimate on installation and cover. Leslies and South Shore Pools.

Leslies was offering 25% off and their price was $500 more than South Shore Pools. I want to get 2 more prices before I order but so far South Shore Pools is looking good.

I called their East Islip location and spoke with Patty 631 277-9800.

Mine is solid with 2 mesh panels - we didn't end up opening it last year since we didn't have a fence up yet but when we opened this year it was black. Took about 1 week to get back to normal.

I think with the solid with panels it will still be green, just less than if it is mesh.

I have a 14x28 pool, and was quoted 1395 for a mesh, and 1750 for a solid. That includes installation and pool closing with chemicals. I think that is a decent price, it is made from loop loc. It is a quote from the same place that put my pool in.

Re: If you have a Pool Loop-Loc Cover....

the solid does not allow light in, no light equals less bact. growth.

we had a mesh cover and our neighbor had a solid. each spring when both covers came off, ours was green and needed a deep cleaning. our neighbors was only a bit clouded

South Shore Pools just told me they don't sell solid covers because "they are a liability" if people don't pump the standing water off the cover. The guy told me they - the weight of the standing water - can pull in the sides of the pool. We've had solids for years and my DH always tosses a small pump in the center when water pools up and pumps the standing water out, but apparently many people do not do that.
