If you have a joint birthday party for your kids, do you put both kids on the invitations?

If you have a joint birthday party for your kids, do you put both kids on the invitations?

My kids were born 1 day apart. I wouldn't want older DS's classmates to feel obligated to buy younger DS a gift. These are people we don't know outside of school.

I am thinking about birthday parties waaaay in advance.

I had the exact same situation as yours! My children are 2 years, 2 weeks and 1 days apart, so we had a joined party for them and will probably continue to do so for many years. I also felt uncomfortable making those who didn't know the other sibling buy an extra gift so I did several versions of the invite. My son's classmates received an invite to his birthday only, my daughter's little nursery school girlfriends-only to my daughters, and our family friends' kids who know and play with both my children received an invite with both their names! I just used the blank invites that the party place gave us and filled it out differently!

Hope this helps in your planing

My kids are 23 months apart. Last year we had a joint party for them, (2nd and 4th) and people only bought gifts for the "friend" they were invited for. The people that would have been invited to both, brought gifts for both. I am also doing a joint party this year and REALLY hope people do the same thing! Yes, I put both names on the invite Chat Icon
