if you got PG with #1 with the help of fertility treatments...

did u/ will you do the same thing to have #2?

anyone know of someone who didn't need iui, ivf, meds to have #2?

how long did it take to get pg again?

We didn't use anything to help her with my DD>..

however I do have a close friend who after 6 years got pregnant using fertility drugs and invitro......and had twins...

then at her 8 week visit post partum she found that she was pregnant again!

I do know people who needed IVF for pg #1 and then got pg spontaneously after that but it completely depends upon the issue.

All of the cases I know of (4) where IVF was needed the first time, but not subsequent times, were for "unexpained fertility". If the diagnosis was for an anatomical reason then subsequent IVF's were needed.

Many of the IUI cases I know of were 50/50... either their first child was a spontaneous pregnancy and they had secondary infertility or vice versa.

It largely depends upon the original diagnosis.

We got PG with Noah thru IVF after 2 + yrs of trying natural and IUI's.

We do not "not try" for number #2 and nothing has happened and we are fully aware it will likely NOT happen.

We have 3 eggs frozen and will "Someday" use them for a frozen IVF.

We dont have the money for it right now , but once we do, we will try with those.

That will be our last try with treatments as we have no insurance coverage and cannot afford another IVF...even with the NYS ivf grant it cost us close to $8K out of pocket and we dont have that kind of money now.

I'm kind of the opposite.....I didn't take drugs for #1 but I did for #2 b/c I wasn't ovulating.

eta: I only waited 8 mos post partum, then took the drugs (clomid). Maybe I would have ovulated eventually if I waited longer

Conceived my DS via IUI- Waited a year before going back to the RE and it took another year from then- Ended up needing to do IVF (several failed IUI's for #2)- Currently 12 weeks along

I conceived my first DS with an IUI and clomid on the first try. The second pregnancy took much longer..about 1.5 years. We tried on our own, hoping that it would work but I had to go back to the dr.

Eventually I ended up getting pg with twins on injectibles. If that didn't work I would have been recommended for in vitro.

conceived DS with Clomid, and when we try for #2 i am not going back to fertility drugs. If it happens it will happen.

I do not ovulate on a regularly.

One of my dear friends had IVF for her first, then the FIRST TIME she and her husband had sex after giving birth to her first IVF baby, she got pregnant again! How amazing is that!!!

We got pg with dd with ivf. We plan on going that route again for baby #2.
