If you did a gender reveal cake....
... did you get it done the same day? My level 2 is on Monday at 4pm. I'm in Brooklyn so I'd really love to reveal that night after dinner.

if you wanted it done that fast, maybe you could entrust a family member or friend to make the cake for you? You could call the fam member/friend & then hand the phone to the Dr & have them go out of the room (far enough so you can't hear) & tell the person & then they can get to work on making your pink or blue cake! the downside would be that someone else will know the gender before you and that it wont be a professionally made cake, but if having the cake/finding out THAT night is important to you, those might be things you are willing to overlook. GL with whatever you decide!!!

If/When I do this I would want to invite my family over on a Friday night so I would try to schedule the sono as close to the end of the week as possible. I know my cake girl would make me a cake within an hour if I needed her to so that's not an issue for me.

I had an amnio so my doctor wrote the gender on a piece of paper on a Tuesday. I went to the bakery on Thursday and picked the cake up on Friday to cut into Friday night.

You have them make both, but only give you the one that matches the eve lope, make the dr write it in 2envelopes so u know for sure just in case they make a mistake!!! But u will have to pay for both!! Might be worth it if u really want it the same day, I might do that!!

We did the Saturday afterward. If you are running out of time, make the cakes beforehand and just have a vanilla icing with red or blue food coloring waiting until you get home. Then when you know you can mix the center icing and then ice the outside in just a few minutes. It's the cake part that takes the most time, so if you do it the night before and keep the cakes in the fridge over night after they cool it will be easy.

Honestly id say if you talk to the bakery beforehand and explain they could do it for you in no time. They could already have the cake baked and once they get the info they just need to put in the right color of filling. That doesnt take long!!

My friend was able to get it same day but, she had her ultrasound earlier in the day.
ETA - You figure you will be there until at least 5pm and many bakeries are closed around that time...
