If we are looking to buy in North Carolina..where should we stay now to scout out places?
Any recommendations on communities and hotels in NC?

If you are looking in the Charlotte area, friends of ours having been living in Indian Trail, Union County, North Carolina. (schools are great). Our other friends live in Waxhaw (also Union Cty). My friend in I.T. lives in Holly Park Development. It is right near Taylor Glenn where some LIW'ers live. Our Waxhaw friends live in the Cureton Development. They love it. The Lawson Development which is close by them is also very nice. You can also check out city-data.com and put in North Carolina. It is a forum and you will get lots of info. Best of Luck to you.

I was in Charlotte for business a few months ago & we stayed across from the mall in "phillips square"(I think)
It was very convenient & the hotel was nice. Great places to eat around there.
