If DC doesnt finish a bottle, do you throw out the unused formula?
I have read you shouldnt keep it bc it can have bacteria.
Does anyone keep the formula?
I feel bad throwing out an ounce or 2 each time he doesnt finish. I have read online conflicting answers whether or not its ok to keep. And of course, I dont want him getting sick. Its just that the formula is almost like liquid gold lol
What do you do?

Honestly, if it was an oz or two, I'd toss it.
But when it was 3+, I'd fridge it and offer it at the next feeding. DS never got sick from it.

I keep it for about an hour and if he doesn't it within that time I toss it.

We may save it in the fridge for a hour and if she doesn't have it, we just throw it out.

i save it in the fridge. i never throw out formula unless it was accidentally left out

DD is a grazer and will eat a couple of oz then push the bottle away, then an hour or so later will drink a couple more. We never know how much she will drink so we always put her bottles back in the fridge and save them for the next feeding if there is more than 2oz left.

I used to throw out all the time, but if it is anything over an ounce I don't. I will give it to DS the next feeding. It has not made any difference to him.
Years ago parent did not throw it away or worry about keeping it cold. What changed?

Anything less than 2 ounces I would toss. Anything more than that, I put back in the fridge and used at the next feeding.
