If another Cablevision rep pounds on my door I am going to freak out!
They are soo annoying!!! The last 3 days they have come ringing my door bell and then opening the screen and then pounding on the door. I literally get to the door in 3 seconds.
I'm not interested - STAY AWAY!

Ive heard about their persistence. Im switching to Fios tomorrow and am so worried this is going to start happening.

I have to laugh because it's Fios who's always pounding on the doors in my neighborhood.  They were just here the other day and there was an army of them marching down our street.

Figures!
Yesterday I was really rude to the woman and pretty much slammed the door in her face.  Today I told the guy very nicely that I wasn't interested and then he was interrogating me why.  When I mentioned that he's the third person this week whp has come by, he said it was impossible!

We have had Fios since we moved in almost 3 years ago and this is the first time this has happened.

I'm thankful that this hasn't happen in our neighborhood. But I have been hearing a lot of this going on lately. If I want to switch I will switch on my own....thanks!

I must say, they did the exact same Fios/Cablevision commercial thing to us in September and stupid me opened the door for him. I was kicking myself as he was talking, but we actually switched to Cable b/c of it --- we got the triple play for $76/month including taxes and 2 DVRs! We are locked into the rate for 2 years. In the end if you're indifferent to your provider, and just going for $$ savings, it might be good to listen :) They paid our Verizon cancellation too and no install fee. They are hurting for business and making it sweet.

Just tell them that you or DH works for whoever the competition is that is at your door and they won't bother you anymore.
DH works for Cablevision so we get our cable and internet for free. Verizon came to my door once trying to sell me Fios and I asked them if they can beat the price of free. He obviously said no - I told him the DH works for Cablevision so there is no way we were switching and I never heard from or saw Verizon again.
In my case it's true that DH works for them, but they don't know that - so lie away to keep the annoying door to door people away!!!

DH was talking to Cablevision this past week trying to get a rate reduction - no luck there but they did drop one unpleasant bit of info. They said that starting in Feb, and running through May, all of LI will be converted to full Digital. It will be region by region, but in one fell swoop you won't be able to get anything without their IO Box. They told him that you can get 2 additional boxes for a year at no charge, but any beyond that are extra and after the year you'll pay the full price for each box.
That's enough to make us seriously look at FIOS. We have 6 TV's in the house - kitchen, bedroom, family room, bonus room, finished basement and DH's office... I don't want to have to pay for 6 boxes - that almost another $60 a month! And it's a pain to move the boxes around too, but when we're using the basement, or bonus room, or DH is in his office, we want the option to use the TV.
They said to watch your bill for the upcoming month for more info.
