I wore this komono dress on NYE - can I wear it for a sweet 16?
The sweet 16 is in April. It is at a catering hall. My niece's dress (birthday girl) is a cinderella dress, so she is going to be very dressed up. My SIL is planning on wearing a black wrap dress. I wanted to wear this dress again because I love it, but now my SIL and I are both thinking we may be underdressed after seeing pics of the b-day girls dress. What do you think?

You shouldn't be as dressed up as the b-day girl anyway. That's beautiful and you should wear it.
Maybe buy a great pair of costume earrings and a nice bracelet and a fabulous pair of sexy shoes..

I think it's perfect. You wouldn't want to be as dressed up as the other 16 year olds at the party IMO.

From what my student tell me now a days Sweet 16 are like mini weddings in what some where.

Yes, I agree that you shouldn't be as dressed up as your niece. It's her day, that is why she is getting so dressed up.

I say wear the dress. The sweet 16 girl will be dressed up because that is what all the girls do (wear a big puffy type dress that makes them feel like the princess they are for the day). But I work at a catering hall and I can tell you people don't wear ballgowns to any sweet 16 that I saw (and I have seen some crazy sweet 16's where the parents have spent $$$ on). But unless they put on the invitation "Black Tie Option" I don't think it is a very very formal affair. Your dress would actually be perfect for the event (dressy, sexy, fun, and comfortable).
