"I wasn't sure if I should tell you"....

Today I met one of my very good friends to go shopping and have lunch. We were in the fitting room and she makes a comment about how she isn't sure if she should buy a dress right now. Anyway she then proceeds to say "I wasn't sure if I should tell you, but we are trying. ALthough nothing has happened yet because you need to have S ex to get pregnant and that isn't happening". Anyway so now I feel awkward. She is one of my closest friends and she didn't want to tell me she was trying to conceive (this will be #3 for her, she has a daughter who will be 4 in March and a son who will 2 in March). Meanwhile, she knows the problems we have had, but I haven't even told her that we now have a plan and are going forward with IUI (I haven't really told anyone actually). It is just so weird. I know this is just the beginning and I don't know how I will feel if she gets pregnant right away and we are unsuccessful.

Sorry so long & thanks for listening Chat Icon .

It is so difficult to hear those who are just trying when we have to try so much more harder! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It's a very difficult situation, I have had a couple of friends get pregnant and have their babies while I am still trying. The positive side of it is that she seems to be a good and considerate friend so you may at least know you have someone to confide in.

I'm sorry, I have two friends right now who are pregnant, one is understanding to my situation, the other one isn't so much.

It is difficult to know how to handle it. I would like to be able to give you some good advice, but I don't really know what to tell you. Just try to stay strong. I guess it all depends on how you feel at the time, whether you are having a good day or a bad one.

I hope you are OK. Your time will come. Try to keep you chin up (as my Mum would say!!!!!!)

Good luck Chat Icon

I agree with Gerty. She probably didn't know how to tell you and didnt want you to be surprised if she did get pregnant. I am sure it is awkward on both ends.

You have a plan....so maybe you will be pregnant together! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

that's a tough situation. For both of you. Of course, she's one of your closest friends and you want to know what's going on in her life, but it sucks to hear stuff like that. I have two very close friends who have no problems getting pregnant. One of my friends and I started at the same time to get pregnant, needless to say she has a 6 month old and I'm still waiting. I have another friend who is currently pregnant. All I wanted to say was that I completely understand and I wanted to send you some Chat Icon
