I thought this was interesting...
I went to my OB last night too and told her we were going to start. She highly recommended that I wait unitl next month so that I have at least one month of Folic Acid in my system prior to being pregnant.
Did anyone else's OB recommend this?
She also told me 400 MCG's was enough...but a lot of the prenatals have 800 MCG...

I think that is probably a good idea. There is so much research that says folic acid is so important. I have been taking it since I went off the pill last year. I haven't start TTC yet, but I will be ready when the time comes.

Not everyone is aware of this nor do they do it nor will it hurt them, however I do agree that it is a great idea to start taking them prior to TTC. I started taking it 4.5 years ago when off my BCP and haven't stopped. TTC again.

My OBGYN gave me a prescription to have on hand for when we decide to start TTC. He said I can take it as soon as TTC because most times you don't get pregnant the first time trying.

My Ob/Gyn just gave me a RX for calnate this week. She told me to start taking them ASAP since we are trying .

Yes, my doctor told me I should be on pre-natals at least 4 months prior ttc.

my ob/gyn was not too concerned with taking them. Maybe because I take a woman's multi vitamin daily. But my DH RX me prenatal, so I am taking them to be sure.
