I signed up for a breastfeeding class...
It's 2 nights at our local hospital. DH doesn't go with me, right?? I just don't want to show up alone and everyone else has their hubby there...

I went with a friend once to one of these. It turned out to only be her and they just showed a video and then the doctor came in and talked to her. This wasn't on LI.

I'm going to one also the end of May and they said it is open to couples & the nurse telling us about it suggested hubbies come so they can understand what we go through. It may be different in each hospital though...call if you are unsure.

I did one at my hospital - most DH's were there. I called ahead to find out. I think it is good for them to learn everything as well.

Same here--DH came with me. The two girls whose DH's weren't there said they wished they were.

On the sign up sheet for the BF class at LIJ it says "per couple" for the fee.
I told DH he's going whether he likes it or not b/c I want his support while BFing.
I told him it's still the same price whether he goes or not.

I am going to my first one tonight - DH is coming as well. At the lamaze class the instructor highly recommended that the dads go as well to understand what is going on and be able to provide better support. I also signed up for Breastfeeding II because they discuss transitioning to the bottle which we will have to do before I go back to work so DH will have to understand that since he is a major player in that role.

My DH came with me and there were about 2-3 others there. DH asked a question and felt so rpoud that he was the only person to...LOL

My husband came with me and my friends husband came with her. He learned about keeping me hydrated so he would bring me a bottle of water ever time I sat down to BF. It was so cute!

I agree DH learned along with me and was able to give me pointers and help out in the 1st weeks.

i went to a class and pretty much everyone had their DH with them. I actually think the real benefit of the class was for my DH and not me. It really helped him to be more supportive of me trying to BF in the beginning when we were having a tough time.
