I said good bye to AJ this morning and I won't see her until Thursday night.... (Update: home)

Now I've left her alone before with my aunt. But I am always just a drive a way. The only other time I was this far was when I came down to TX for an interview and left AJ with Jim in NY for 48hrs. A one night stay in SATX.

Now the Company is sending me to Dallas for a 3 day training deal. 7am to 8pm daily for two days and the 3rd day is 7am to 4pm. Intense stuff.

One side I'm THRILLED! Small office here in San Antonio but I still work for the Big company I was with in NYC. So getting back into the main stream is a real boost. Plus I feel like they are recongizing my worth. They trust me and knew that I'd be a good candiate for this training. I need to prove that being a mom hasn't hindered my goals.

The other side I'm bummed. Almost like why can't we do this on a weekend. haha. Hubby is frantic. AJ who goes into ups and downs with me is in an upswing. So instead of JUST being Daddy's girl she will send him away "no Daddy, go away, mama's turn" and she means it. Kisses and hugs and just finally started to say more than just I love you, but actually says "I love you mama" which is a world of a difference.

I'm a pessimist I guess. What happens if something goes wrong. What were those last moments with my kiddo? The fight we had last night were she kept throwing her glasses (fake sunglasses) and finally I took them away as she SCREAMED at me and chased at me to give them back? Or the moment at night when she said "I love you mama" and kissed my nose?

This morning she was so distracted with the rolly polly in her hand (our distraction device for daycare) she leaned her face at me for a kiss and put her head on my shoulder as a hug and walked away.

3 nights and 3 days.

Haha, I'm sure I'll be so busy it will be fine. It will only bother me the most during flights. I plan to call nightly with speaker phone.

I'm such a wuss. No way I'd be able to leave AJ if I can't drive to get her. Which is why we will ALWAYS vacation together Chat Icon

Just venting out my feelings here.

I travel about 4x a year on business and recently left my 5 month old with my mil- I know its a little different since he probably isnt as cognizant that I am gone but when I got back, boy was he happy to see me and I was happy to see him!

But I also felt good to be an adult again and have a little time to myself! If you had time during the conference go to the hotel spa and make some time for yourself!

have a great trip!

Yeah that first time I didn't even BLINK, I walked out the door knowing it was for work and for her future. She was 8m old. Didn't really phase her much.

But now she's nearly 3 and talks and has opinions and voices them! Chat Icon She's a character. She has likes and dislikes and knows how to express them.

I know she'll be tickled pink to see me again. She all but goes into hysterics of joy when I get her from daycare. Spills crayons, jumps out of her chair and all out runs into my arms with the biggest hug ever. Chat Icon

Came home and she could have cared less. I walked into the room this morning and she said "go away" Chat Icon

Came back an hour later and she was ok to play spider tickler with me. But still preferred daddy.

I missed my little girl. Called her daily and she was so excited to talk to me.

By the time we left for school today she was almost back to her old self with me.

Little stinker!

Being able to call made all the difference in the world.

HOWEVER - we were in 'class' from 7:30am to 8:30pm daily. So it left me only about a half hour of time to talk to her from 8:30 to 9pm (otherwise it would mess up bedtime for him).

Ugh.. class was tough and useful but SOOO intense. I had no time for outside calls. We had breakfast together at 7:30, went to class, break out sessions together, regroup, had lunch together, more breakout, back to regroup, breakout then another regroup before dinner together.

EXHAUSTING!

Worse. The night before I flew home (DFW was practically closed due to storms, then storms on Thurs (the night I flew home) for Houston meant DFW was backed up and trying to play catch up when I was leaving. The sleeping cots were still out!

I'm at work today and I'm so beat. Don't know why I bothered to come in at all!
