I lost my job... but found another
So two weeks ago, my boss tells me they are closing my office and letting me go. I have until the end of April.
I have had a very cushy job. I am a lawyer, they pay me nicely, and I don't have too much work to do (hence the LIF time). I also work by myself in a satellite office. My boss is here a few times a month. I had a secretary, but she left a few months ago. So I have literally been working alone.
I saw the writing on the wall before this, so I got some headhunters names and contacted them. One had a job that I was perfectly qualified for. I went for 2 interviews and was waiting to schedule the 3rd when I got laid off.
Well today the official offer came  So I have been "unemployed" for less than 2 weeks. Of course i am still working until the end of April, but its nice that there wasn't any lag time until I find a new job.
This new job has some great qualities, lots of responsibility, I'll be busy and back in Court on a daily basis, great career move and I get to work with other people. Some negatives, the office is WAY downtown which is very far from the UWS, but it may foster into my dream of moving back to Brooklyn. Longer hours And I will actually have to work 
but I'm excited!!
