I have the BEST job. ENVY ME NOW.

So here's a little backstory.

"Mrs. Smith" took a full course of tutoring with a tutor named "Joe". Joe is out very best tutor. In the first course, Mrs Smith's son, "Bob" went up 250 points over the diagnostic test he took. Mrs. Smith was so happy she hired Joe again to tutor Bob for the test in October. She could only pay half at a time.

After the October test I sent mom another invoice for her balance, at which time she calls me to complain for the first time about Joe. She said his schedule was horrible, he was away the week before the test and it was horrible. She didn't get to finish all lessons. As a result (in her opinion)her son got to the test and wigged out and so he cancelled the scores. I apologized and told her she could have free lessons if she wanted to for the November test (her son had previously expressed interest in this). She decided against it and I didn't hear from her. Joe heard from the kid, and the kid said his score went up ANOTHER 130 points and thanked Joe profusely. So I am thinking "this is great. Now mom will actually pay for her lessons" So I send her another invoice. She calls and asks me to remove the lessons she didn't actually get. I removed them and one more for good measure from the bill and sent another invoice.

She then calls me again to launch into a tirade about how bad Joe's schedule was and that even though he was a good teacher his schedule blew (Joe is a retiree and vacations a lot). She reiterated the story about her kid wigging on the SAT. And I countered with his great score in November and his thanking of Joe. She said since it was a month since the lessons it was completely independent of the months of tutoring he had and proves that he did better on his own. The son siad he wigged not because he didn't feel prepared but because he saw some funky unfamiliar questions on what he thought was hte experimental section and got nervous. So now she's REFUSING to pay for her lessons. I told her she had them, they worked, and she needs to pay for them. She siad the schedule stank and it's not what she paid for and I need to get a lawyer or she won't pay. Then she was disputing the number of sessions she had, so I offered for her to provide me with a list of the sessions she had and I could cross check it with my own. She then siad it was irrelevent (of course she did, she had no argument), and was talking about the schedule and said I need to come back with "another number"... HOW do you not pay for something you got? That's like saying you wanted a haircut on tuesday, but you got it on wednesday so you won't pay for it. What the EFF?

And the thing is, her kid's score went up 380 points..she got what she paid for and more... (she now disputes the 380 because our diagnostic test was not the same as sitting for an actual SAT)... You got what you were contraccted for, it worked to a great degree and now you don't want to pay> Give me a frigging break, lady... And she NEVER complained except for when we were trying to bill her.

She wouldn't even let me speak and eventually hung up on me. I was trying to tell her that she does need to pay her balance, but that i would be glad to give her free hours for her next kid...but she didn't let me get that far, she was just yelling and threatening me... ugh.

Thanks for the hugs. I am so fuming at this woman and she is just one of many.

How do you get something and then decide not to pay for it?

Another case is a woman who signed up and had exactly 4 times her son was able to meet. I miraculously found her tutors who were able to do it, then one of them found out last min she had to have surgery, I miraculously found another tutor who could do all but one date and mom is screaming at me... ugh

I am NOT paid enough for this
