I have NO idea what to get my dad for his 60th birthday!
What did you get your dads? He travels a lot, loves to work around the house and go out to eat, etc. I just can't think of anything 'special' for his 60th! He also lives in Charlotte, so it's harder for me to find a place to send him for dinner, etc.

Last b-day of my dad's we got his outside speakers. They re-did the backyard and got a new hottub. Hooked it up to the radio and they love it.
Clothes are always good
does he need a nice traveling case? Maybe something with his initials
any tools?
anything for yardwork?
my dad always loves Godiva so sometimes we do that and clothes
robe
does he drink? Beer or wine of the month club?
good bottle of wine
anything sports related if he likes a team
does he have grandkids? a nice frame of them or portrait

I live in charlotte and I LOVE maggiano's.....
it is italian (obviously  ) family style and delicious

We recently got my Dad a digital camera & printer...the kind that you don't need to attach to a computer...and he's been using that thing all the time.

You say he travels a lot. If you mean by land, a gift card from a gas station (Mobil, Hess, Sunoco, etc.) would help him. Make it for $60!

For my dad's 70th my brother & I scanned a bunch of his old slides/pictures & we made a DVD of his life from when he was a baby, through the years. It was a huge hit!

Does he have a computer/laptop? My dad did but it was an old one with no webcam, so he couldn't Skype with us and get to see the grandkids. So we got my dad a webcam he can hook up to his computer, now he can download Skype for free and call us on the computer.

I did a gift from each decade- I don't recall too many specifics- but I know he loved the movie "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" so that was the 60s and the book Kon-Tiki from the 50s. I think books and CDs/DVDs were over-represented. But he liked it.

This is great!! My Dad's 60th is in October and he is SO hard to shop for... this is something that he would really love!
