I had a private L & D tour yesterday...
at NSUH @ Manhasset 
The nurse manager was incredibly sweet. I saw the L & D rooms, the nursery, the private rooms and the semi private rooms. We also discussed what my options were if I was unhappy with any L & D nurses or anything else. She gave me all my admission paperwork and a ton of other info.
I am very excited, I can't believe I am delivering in May!

time is really going fast, I am due in Sept. and I know this summer will fly - why should it be different than any other summer right? congrats !!!
I think L & D tour is going to make me nervous !

NSUH in Manassett is really nice, very tight security, which is alwasy comforting. I think I have visitd friends at every hospital on LI, and NSUH is suppose to be the best. I have ot say, my SIL delivered ay Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, it is like a country club, every morning they have a gourmet brunch for patients and their families, the rooms are nicer than our own bedrooms!!

We had the option of delivering at Good Sam in Suffern, which is like that hospital in NJ. We decided against it because I wanted a hospital with an amazing NICU unit and a great cardiology department.
NSUH has a "parents dessert" get together every night which is nice but, the rooms after you deliver leave a lot to be desired. For us, the pros of having amazing doctors and great NICU, outweighed the cons of it not being fancy. However, I wish it was like Valley hospital, oh well.
