I gave DS milk for the first time this morning and......

He drank the whole bottle!Chat Icon

Now my only question is do I go cold turkey on the formula for the rest of the day? Should I put it in a sippy cup instead of a bottle?

If he is one years old I would definitely go cold turkey and put it in a sippy cup. This is what I did with my DS.

OK, well he took the milk in his bottles all day today, no problems at all. It's like he didn't even care that I switched him from formula to milk. However, he wouldn't drink it out of the sippy cup. In his defense he doesn't usually use a sippy cup, he usually uses a straw cup. Should I try the straw cup instead? Also, do you just give milk when you used to give a bottle, or do you give it with meals, or all day long? What about water/juice? How do you incorporate all that in as well?

I just asked his age because usually Ped. keep children on formula until a year because of the vitamins. If you have him drinking out of a straw cup that is great. I would put the milk in the straw cup it is better for his teeth and mouth muscles. I gave the milk sippies in place of the bottles. I usually offer my DS water at meals. I do not really give my DC juice so I have no advice about that.

Thanks, I think I'm gonna try the milk in the straw cup tomorrow and see if that works better.

If he likes it and is showing no issues after drinking it, go cold turkey. We did with my DD at 11 months.
