i am DONE with lucille roberts--recommend your gym in lynbrook/east rockaway/oceanside/etc area

i am SO DONE with lucille roberts in valley stream. i walked out today because EVERY single machine was being used and 85% of the weight machines were being used and people were standing there waiting for them. the machines were all signed up for for an HOUR AND A HALF!!!! there was no chance of me doing anything and i wasn't waiting around hoping it would get better. and it's the middle of a work day!

i have a membership for the next year but i'm thinking of just scrapping it and joining another.

i love that LR is all women, but i can't take this nonsense of it being packed all the time.

can anyone recommend a gym where you don't have to wait and hour and a half at peak times and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

how is NYSC in oceanside?

i'd prefer the lynbrook/east rockaway/RVC/oceanside/etc area so i don't have to drive 20 minutes.

I think there's a Lucille Roberts in RVC. Did you try there?

I go to NYSC in Oceanside, but I go during non-peak hours, so I can't really answer your question about traffic.

I use to go to sky athletic in RVC. Not sure if things have changed but the upstairs was coed and the downstairs was women only. They also have coed and women only classes. Their class schedule is amazing. Def check them out.

i never going to lucille roberts in that area on a monday. monday is the worst day to go!

lynbrook fitness is good on merrick rd across from the old cadillac/new cvs.

i teach at Ballys in RVC. the group room is open so that's kind of weird for some (esp since i teach yoga!) and its loud, but other than that its big and i don't think you'd have trouble getting onto machines or into classes

I have friends who go to NYSC in Oceanside and love it. I'm a member at Sky Athletic Club in RVC and really like it (when I actually go!). They have a ladies only section so you can choose if you want to work out in the main part (male and female) or just with other women. I never have to wait for machines, ever, and they have a nice number of classes.
