Huntington Station????

We are from Nassau and came across a great opportunity for a house in Huntington staion. I know many people have different opinions on it. I am so confused because although I have family in Huntington, it's not Huntington station and When I tell prople they all say the same thing be careful or it's bad there.

the location Is off of Broadway. we drove around and although we saw not so great parts on our way there we drove around the area and it seems to be well kept and a lot of kids in the area. It is school district 3. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Huntington Station????

There are 100% different parts of it.

I am in S. Huntington, but the mailing add. comes up Huntington Station. When you look on a map it says S. Huntington, on MLS the same thing. I am a few blocks behind the Walt Whitman Mall, on the boarder of Melville.

The heart of Huntington Station is on New York Ave going towards the Village of Huntington. That area is def a little shady.

Where I am, It's the same school district as friends of mine that live in Melville as well.

Area is awesome, tons of kids, great homes and neighbors, etc.. very quiet area.

Re: Huntington Station????

I rent in a house right off of Broadway and have never had any problems or felt unsafe at all (even coming home late/early in the morning). I agree that the area along NY Avenue of Huntington Station is definitely shady, but we've been there for about a year and a half and really like it. It's nice and quiet and we really don't have any complaints. It is a pain to have to drive through Huntington Station along NY Avenue to get to the expressways or home since there's ALWAYS traffic but besides that, it's great!
