HSG tommorow...Nervous WRECK UPDATE at bottom
Im working 7 pm to 7 am tommorow and my HSG is tommorow at 1015. Im gonna take the motrin like they said but any other suggestions. Im so nervous.. i guess it more fear of the unknow. I missed one dose of the antibiotic i was supposed to start 2 pills a day starting yesturday and i only took 1. that should be ok right? Does it really hurt as much as everyone says it does? am i at high risk for infecttion. Im supposed to work tommorow night as well. UGH

I didn't even have anti-biotics, so I am sure you are fine. Just continue taking them. Hopefully you will be so tired that you wont think to be nervous. It's over fast, worst is the anticipation of it. You'll be fine. Take motrin (or similar) an hour before. Good luck... hopefully it will be a non event all around.

You will be fine. The anticipation is way worse than the actual test. I had some mild cramping during and for about an hour after. It really was not bad at all.

Seriously, its not a huge deal
Just some cramping for a couple of minutes and its over
Like you said, the anticipation of the unknown is the worst part

My dr. did not prescribe antibiotics for the HSG. I did take 3 advil an hour before. There was some cramping during the HSG (like bad period cramps) and then after the exam a little cramping but that was it! I was a nervous wreck before the test... It is over VERY FAST!!

You'll be fine!!!! Taking the motrin beforehand is a good idea. I had slight cramping that lasted maybe 10 minutes. Went straight to work and was fine the rest of the day.

Good luck tomorrow-
Honestly, i was sooo nervous about it and it barely hurt at all. i took tylenol and motrin and a 1/2 xanax.. LOl so i made sure i drugged myself but really didnt need it. I didnt work after and am glad i didnt b/c the emotional stress exhausted me plus i had very minor cramping. I just went home and relaxed. u have a busy day but other girls seemed to go back to their normal daily routine. i was way too emotional (even tho my results were AOK)
Good luck tomorrow but i would try to get off some of the day tomorrow.) thats just my opinion!
where r u getting it done? i didnt take all my anti's either.

Good Luck Tomorrow... I have had 2 HSG, and I didn't have any prescriptions nor did I take any Advil after the procedure...
Its just a little crampy... I think the anticipation is the worst part...
You will be fine!

Good luck!
I had no pain at all with my HSG, some discomfort, but it was mostly from the speculum. I had absolutely no pain afterwards, no cramping or anything.

Update: Ok well it is all done. You all were right the antiipation gets the best of you. So after working 12 hours i rushed home changed and DH drove me to appt. When i got there they told me they never got my blood work from Re Of NY office.  They called 5 times so that was it i got on the phone. You dont want a nervous wreck who hasn't been to sleep yet to call you MAD ( i was very polite) Needless to say we got it 45 min later. Test went great i actually got to watch it on the TV SCREEN. SO COOL Everything was clear and no blockages to be found. I got about 4 hours sleep before tonights shift so pray for me that i make it through. Im working with all new nurses tonight. Thanks for all the loving support!!
