how/when do due dates change?

sorry - preggo brain. do they base it on the measurement of the baby? i ovulated somewhere between Jan. 20-22 (opk+ on Jan. 20) so shouldnt i be a couple of days further?

I don't understand your question?

Most doctors go by your LMP and will only change the due date if you are measuring very large or very small.

They changed mine after my Level II. My original due date was based on my LMP, Dr. changed it to 5 days earlier based on Level II results.

According to my LMP, I am due 9/25. When I went for my 7 weeks I measured in at 6w2d, so they moved my date to 9/30. When I went for my ultrascreen (supposedly at 12w3d), they estimated me at 13w1d and moved my date to 9/23 .. so who freakin knows anymore I guess as it gets closer I will know more.

When people ask now I just say late September

LMP- I am due 9/30
then I went in for the internal sono and it was chanhed to 9/21
my calculation was 9/24 ( from the date of consecption) so only time will tell

I calculated October 8th....The drs. have calculated anywhere from October 7-10th.....I also just say early October

I always seem to measure a few days less than my original due date on my last two sonos. I go for the ultrascreen tomorrow and I should be 12 weeks 2 days so we'll see but in answer to your question, yes, it's based on how big the baby is. In my case, the sono machine has been spitting out the due date and they just go with it even though I have short cycles. I'm going to ask further tomorrow.

ETA-I charted on FF.

they changed mine at the first sono and went with those measurements. They did not change after the other 2 sonos

I'm not sure either...my Dr. was basing it on the meaurement at 6 weeks (due date 10/4), then it changed at 9 weeks (to 9/27), I dont think he went off my lmp because he knows my periods are so irregular...I had no idea when I conceived. But, when I went for the ultrascreen, they based it on my lmp (new due date = 9/22)...so now they are a week off from my regular doctor. Who knows! I'm just sticking w/the date in the middle...9/27!!

I charted so i knew (a couple days after the fact) when exactly i o'd. My doc went by my LMP.

So by LMP, my due date would be 7/7/07, by my O date through FF, 7/10/07, 1st sono, he pushed my Due date back to 7/12/07-this is the one my doc goes by.

Who knows the reasons!

I measured consistently a week ahead with DD, and he didn't push my due date back, no clue why he pushed it forward.

My original DD was based on my LMP and 28 day cycle.

Since I happen to know the conception day and I was on a 26 day cycle (not 28!), my DD should be a few days early. My last 2 sonos also show the baby being "ahead" and due a few days earlier than original DD. Which is accurate with what my DD should be.

They did not change it for just a few days but I know what it "should" be so I will be on the look out.

My LMP was 1/3 making my EDD 10/10(according to the stupid wheel)

I got a +OPK on 1/20 so I knew my DD would change.

I estimated 10/14 and after my 1st Sono (where I measured small as expected because they were off) my EDD changed to 10/14-10/16.

They calculate this as my 12th week

The earlier the sonogram the better the results when it comes to dating the pregnancy..Babies before 12 weeks are all pretty much a uniform size and stage of development..

My dates were based upon the day the heart started beating...Monday it wasnt beating and on Thursay it was...since then the baby has been measuring a bit bigger than my dates but we know that Im not more preggo b/c otherwise the heart would of been beating on that Monday...

If we went by my LMP Id be 3 more weeks pregnant

i think i conceived one of 3 days - Jan 20, 21 or 22. They are basing my due date (10/16/07) on my LMP but i wasn't on an exact 28 day cycle. I'm trying to figure out if my date could be different. the baby is measuring 12 weeks today - does that mean i conceived 12 weeks ago today

My original due date based on my 28 day cycle was the 4th of July.

But when I went for the ultrscreen she said he measuring with a due date of the June 27th ad then I had another sonogram a week later at the hospital and they said he measuring for a due date of June 25th.

Only time will tell I guess as you get closer to the end the sonos become more accurate I guess. But really the baby will come out when it is good and ready
