How to keep 15 month old entertained on a 4 hour car trip?

We're going upstate, and it's not a horribly long trip, but it's long enough Chat Icon We may or may not be in the car during nap time (departure time is not flexible due to DH working, unfortunately)

We don't have a DVD player

Already packed 1 million books b/c she loves books, and 1 million carb snacks, b/c she's addicted to carbs. Also packed her flashcards b/c she's liking them a lot lately.

What else? Things I would have on hand so I don't have to run out somewhere tomorrow.

Thanks!

I was going to say books.

And I think that you'll be surprised at how she wants to look out the window at everything going by. DS does that a lot now!!

True, she does like to be nosy. But she's still rear-facing, so that limits her view a bit Chat Icon

Aw, you are SOOOO sweet....thank you!!!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Honestly, I'd be worried that something would happen to it, she's not the most careful child. Chat Icon But thank you!!!!!!!!!

Oh, a doodle thing (like an etch-a-sketch I guess) would be cute, maybe I can run to Kohl's in the morning, I've seen them there in the past...thanks!

I'm jealous. Chat Icon DD doesn't even like to nap in the car anymore during regular outings. Chat Icon

Magna Doodle works.....but only for a short time.

My advice is if you have a laptop wedge it between your two front seats and run a DVD. That is what we do when we go to my sisters who is about 4 hours away. Works great for over an hour. If you don't have a laptop or DVD player i think you should get one......I heard they are pretty cheap......JMO. I just took a 2 hour plane trip with my boys and after an hour of magna doodle, snacks, books, toys...it became a real issue (they are 2) and I was not driving. When i took a 4 hour trip to Virginia to visit my sister...no real issue with the DVD.
