How to get rid of unwanted

shrubbery/over grown bushes??????????

Some of the landscapping from the house we are buying is sooooooo over grown and out of control-----some of it can just be triimed back but how do you go about pulling out/killing/removing trees and large bushes?

Re: How to get rid of unwanted

you have to cut them down first, then dig up the stumps/roots.

Ask julz33, she and her DH and various family members got rid of some rather large shrubs/trees at her house! LOTS of work

Yep! That was funChat Icon
Some pics:
we had 4 of these

After we trimmed all the branches off we had to tie in 4 foot long bundles under a certian weight for the town to take them.
We were left with 4 giant stumps that I tried to cut off with a chainsaw, but that didn't work. We tried to dig the out but they were too big. Finally, my neighbor helped us get them out by pulling them out with his truck!!! If that didn't work we were going to get a stump grinder.
For the smaller sized bushes in the backyard, I was able to dig them out myself. It took a long time, but it was a great workoutChat Icon

do you have to put anything (like chemicals) down after you pull the bushes to make sure all the weeds/roots are dead?

You can put something down, but we didn't yet. I think we are putting something down in the fall.

Re: How to get rid of unwanted

If you pull out the roots of the shrubs, you should be OK. If you are pulling out general brush, you definately want to put something down.
