if you're looking for a nice wood toy chest than I guess that would be normal.

I have a plastic step 2 one for matthew that was less than $100.

Depends on what you were looking for.

WE have toy chests in their rooms that we wanted to look like furniture. They were more expensive. I have 2 in my living room too Chat Icon and they are also wood, but came from IKEA, so they are not that expensive.

Walmart.com has some nice ones that are not too expensive.

We bought ours when we bought the furniture. It was 300....kind of expensive for a box made of wood if you ask me.

BRU and Buy Buy baby have wooden toychests for around $100. They look pretty sturdy.

Re: How much would you spend on a toy chest?

I had Joenick make me something for DD's 1st birthday last year. I think the toybox itself was about $150 which I bought onlline. I had it shipped to Val's house...she put it together and painted it for me. I love it and so does everyone else that goes into DD's room Chat Icon. Here is the only picture I have of it...this was only half-done progress pic that Val sent to me Chat Icon

Aww...I'm so glad you are still loving the toybox.

Thanks for sharing the pic.

Jules, if you'd like a personalized toybox, just shoot me an FM and we can work out the details. Chat Icon

I spent about $350 on a wooden one that was hand painted. I love it and don't regret spending the money.

Re: How much would you spend on a toy chest?

PB kids has nice wicker ones. I wanted one that wasn't to baby-ish so DS could use it forever:
