How much would you spend on a b-day gift for mom??
I was gonna buy her a GC for a spa for $150 and DH thinks that is a little too much. Thoughts??

I'd probably spend under $100. I tend to do bigger gifts for Christmas, though.

usually around $50-100...Sometimes it is a little less. I save the big gifts for Christmas & Mother's day!

I used to spend more than $100, but now that money is tighter, its between $50-75. But that's on my inlaws, my parents no longer send their kids gifts and don't want them in return. Just a card and a phone call. Works great when its their birthday but sucks when it's mine!

Agreed - I get her what I think is nice and what she'd enjoy - it's my mommy - price comes second.

i agree with this. i've gotten big gifts like tvs or computers, but if i have no ideas i will get pajamas or something and take her out to dinner...if i have a great idea that she needs money would never be taken into consideration. if i was doing a massage i would probably pay the exact amount for a 1-hour massage or whatever...

It varies from what she wants-although getting her to tell me is like pulling teeth---or what I see.. But most of the time I guess it falls within the $50-$100 category...not including dinner though

I never put a certain amount that I will spend on her-I buy what I know she wants or would like-Her b-day is next week and my sister and brother and I chipped in and got her a Coach bag.

I'd pay any amount for a gift for my mom if I knew it was something she liked, wanted or needed.
My DH wouldn't think $150 was "too much" to spend on my mother.

My mom goes all out for everyones birthday so I love to do the same for her especially since DH's family is not really in to the whole celebrating thing. We only give gifts to the kids and thats it. With my family, we celebrate everything!

It totally depends on what she wants/needs. I've spent anywhere from $75-$700 on her birthday. My DH would have no problem with any amount really. He adores my mom.

Depends on the birthday (i.e 50, 60), depends on what kind of year she had.
I took my mo to a spa weekend for a 50th and dropped mad cash. But the next year I bought her a sweater, KWIM...
150 is a nice gift
