How much weight did your baby gain between 2 and 3 months?

I'm really concerned that he hasn't gained enough. We just weighed him and he went up only 1.2 pounds. We will find out officially at the pediatrician tomorrow, but I am wondering if this is too little.

I know he was born so freakin' big at 11lbs 8oz, so I know he has to level off at some point, but I want my mind at ease.

My DS was born on 8/23/07 weighing 6lbs 7oz. On his 2 1/2 month check up he weighted 10lbs 12oz. I was worried because I thought that was way to much but the ped told me that it was okay since he was born so small. I think he is just catching up. Ds eats alot. He is formula fed. I think your DS is just leveling out.

Is your DS BF or Formula??

They start to slow down!!!!

DS gained 4 lbs between 1-2 months but since his 2 month appointment I think he has gained about 1/2lb per week..He is just shy of 17lbs (as of today) and Im sure he will be there at his appointment next week...

My eldest daughter grew really quickly in the beginning too. At 3 months she was 25 inches and 15lbs or so..but at a year she was only 20lbs and 30 inches....

Between his 2.5mo and 3.5 mo visits, he gained 1.5lbs bringing him to 16lbs (born at 7lbs 1oz). Between 1.5-2.5, he had a bigger spurt - he gained 3.5lbs.

DD gains exactly 1 lb 7 or 8 oz every month (since one month and she will be 5 months on Tuesday). She was 9 lbs 4 oz at birth.

1 lb. exactly - and grew 1 inch exactly.

I am going to show you our weight history so you can get a better picture of how my DS' weight gain has gone. (You'll see that he's slowed down a bit as it goes on, but he's still in the same percentile.)

Birth: 7 lbs 1 oz
2 wks: 8 lbs 2 oz
6wks: 11 lbs 12 oz
11 wks: 15 lbs 5 oz
4 mths: 18 lbs 3 oz
5 mths: 20 lbs 6 oz
6 mths: 21 lbs 11 oz

I think that as long as the weight gain is consistent and follows the same pattern, you're OK.

DD just went for her 3 month appointment and she gained 1.1 oz

Thank you so much for easing my mind ladies. It's amazing that he was so large at birth, and now everybody is passing him.

Not much- DD only went from 9lbs 8oz to 10lbs 4oz. I was concerned, but the doctor said its fine!

DD was born 8/24 and weighed 8lbs 14 oz. dropped to 8 lbs 2 oz when we came home from hospital.

At 1 month she was 10 lbs.

At 2.5 months she was 13.5 lbs.

I think everything should be fine for you as he is gaining and may just be leveling off a bit.

one month appt - 9 pounds
two months - 10.8
four months - 13.8
six months - 15.8

DD born 7lbs 7ozs and at her two month appointemnt she is 12lbs.
