How much milk for an 18 month old?
Just curious as to how much milk your 18 month old drinks a day? Jake was drinking about 24 ounces and I took away one of the cups so now he is drinking 16 ounces. I just want to be sure he is getting enough. He does drink water throughout the day too.
We don't go to the doctor until mid may so I figured I could ask you all. Thanks.

I think about 16 oz per day is recommended for that age. Too much milk depletes other nutrients and vutamins in foods, and fills them up so they are less likely to eat appropriately.

My daughter has been drinking 18 oz for awhile now (3 - 6 oz sippies a day) Shes 21 months now.

At our last pedi visit (he was 18 months), our doc said 16 oz. was perfect.... Too much more with whole milk and the doc said they are getting a lot of fat calories and should be getting better nutritious calories from other foods.

My daughter gets 16 oz a day plus a yogurt. Dr. said that was fine.
