1 year, some longer. Smell/ taste with your finger. Some loose taste.

After 6 mos or a year they loose flavor but I don't think they will kill you or anything 
If you buy fresh and compare, you will be amazed at the difference in color. Example, fresh dried parsley is bright green and fresh red pepper flakes is bright red. i had some that got old and couldn't believe how much the color faded.

I buy the mccormac gourmet spices and they have a 1-2 year expiration date on the bottom depending upon what it is. HTH

I know, right?  I barely use mine, but we have had it for 4+ years and I was looking at it the other day and was wondering if I should throw it all out.
