how long before due date do you have c-section

I've got a long way to go, but b/c of my placenta previa, my doc has mentioned C-section.

Can anyone tell me how long before your scheduled due date they usually do a c-section?

Also at what point do they tell you when the c-section will be?

Usually 39 wks.

Most hospitals will not schedule it earlier than 39 weeks without an amnio to verify that the baby's lungs are fully formed.

I also have complete previa, and mine is scheduled exactly one week before my DD. I have had my c-section scheduled for only a month or so, but I am not sure if this is the norm; it might be different for different hospitals. I am delivering at Winthrop.

I thought it was 10 days but I haven't really clarified that.

My doc said 39 weeks.

My doc said 10 days usually. In my case it may be 3 weeks since I delivered at 37 weeks my first time. If my body shows any effacement etc he will take the baby at 37 weeks.

mine was at 38 weeks, but it wasnt planned.

I had an induction which led ro a c section at 39 weeks

My 1st was breech and my doc wouldn't schedule me any sooner than 39 weeks.

I had my csection at 39 weeks. But, it was really just supposed to be an induction due to high bp.
I didnt respond to cervadil or pitocin so they wound up doing a csection

i had a scheduled csection and i went in 5 days before my due date. i was given that date very early on in my pregnancy.

I just asked my dr. yesterday and she said depending on your history and that usually they schedule it for week 39, but she told me that if you have contractions between week 36-39 you can have an "emergency c-section" and you and the baby would be fine. anything b4 week 36 is allot more risky for the baby and the mommy.
What did your dr tell you because of your P/P?

My doc scheds them for 7-10 days before the EDD.

I will get my date today or my next appt in 2 weeks. I am 30 weeks.
