some are about 40,000Chat Icon could be anywhere between like 30k and 60k. There is the penny test to see if you need new tires.

Re: how long are tires supposed to last-

I am the last person to know how long a tire should last. But I did recently learn about that penny test (I think on a commercial). If you put a penny in the treads and can see the head of the penny, you need new tires.

If I got that wrong, I'm sure someone else can correct me.

Re: how long are tires supposed to last-

1. Take a penny and pinch Abe's body between your thumb and forefinger.
2. Put Lincoln's head into one of the grooves on the tread. Select a point on your tire where tread appears the lowest.
3. If any part of Abe Lincoln's head is obscured by the tread, you're driving with the legal and safe amount of tread. If you can see above his head, where it says "In God We Trust," take a hint: you're ready for a new tire.

oh my tires arent that bad... i just tried it. I just wanted to know the general life span of a tire- i know all are different.. i would just hate to spend $$ on new tires when the truck goes back in nov, possibly earlier!

If you do have a slow leak somewhere you can take it to a tire place and have it plugged

Re: how long are tires supposed to last-

or they sell a can of stuff that you can spray into where you put the air in - it patches up anything that may be causing a slow leak. I keep a can in my trunk

I have no idea what it's called -let me look online.

Anyone in an autoparts store could grab it for you though
