How late is too late to go for a massage?

I am 35 weeks today and my friend got me a GC for a maternity massage. Is it too late to get one or am I still ok to go?

I would definitely ask your doctor first but I'm 34 weeks and asked my doc last week and he said absolutely go for it!

You can get a massage all the way to your due date.

Only contra-indications:

severe nausea
fever
Labor/contractions (unless you have a trained labor massage therapists and not in a spa setting)


Need a TRAINED massage therapist if you are on bed rest or have GD or pre-eclampsia or considered high risk.


ETA: I am a CERTIFIED prenatal, labor and postnatal massage therapist. Ask me if you have any questions. You should always check with your OB first. If no issues, you can go all the way to the end.

Im 34 weeks and had one yesterday. Ive gone every month starting at 3 months, and I have my last appt. scheduled for when I am 38 weeks. It is a wonderful and relaxing thing!! Go for it.
