how do you handle teh 1000 question of WHY? Why? Why?
So Allie turned 2 yesterdaya dn she must have asked the question WHY about everything this morning.
Allie: Wheres Ernie Doll?
Me: in the living room
Allie Why?
Me: he slept there last night go get him
Allie Why
Me: ome on go get him and we are leaving
Allie: WHY?
you can imagine the rest...
hoow do you distract her from this conversation. i mean if she was really asking me WHY about something then ok but this is like 2 year old WHY? Why? Why?

It gets to a point where I just start replying with things like "I don't know, why do you think Ernie slept in the living room?"
and if that fails I go to "I don't know, I guess we'll have to remember to ask Daddy when we see him."

When DS starts doing that non-stop, I turn it around on him, and just rapid-fire "Why's" back at him. After a few of them, he gets annoyed with me, and stops asking (for a while....)
Doesn't have to be logical questions, just all in one breath do something like "Why is the sky blue, Why is the TV on? Why are you standing? Why are clouds white, etc....."

My Dh simply responds with a long-winded, scientific explanation.
And then she'll smirk and say "Oh daddy, shutup!"

lol DS started the "are we there yet? how long? are we there now?" everytime we are in the car. Drives me CRAZY! I try changing the subject or singing! Sometimes is works

I usually answer, answer, answer until I realize it's an attention thing.
Then I ask them why. I have to say they've come up with some very creative things on why.

I usually try to answer ds the 1st two times and then by the 3rd I always say "WHY do you think....." and for some reason he laughs and says "mom" and then stops asking
