how do you dress your 7-10 month old BOY in the summer??
my big big boy will be that age range in the summer months...I am slowly looking at clothes for him but I honestly have NO idea what they wear at that age in the summer 
will he still be rocking undershirts with everything like he is now?
are onesies to keep his back warm unnecessary?
should I look for 2 piece short sets or those one piece little short outfits????

I never put onesies under things for DS last summer, my favorite were the one piece shorts sets. Didn't have to worry about the shirt riding up, and it's still easy to change their diaper. Things like this:

my friends with boys used to like longer shorts for when they would crawl all over everything! their knees were a mess! my dainty princess didn't have that problem!

I used the rompers with my son, like the ladies posted. He was 11 months when he started wearing them.

I love the cotton one piece sets....Ralph LAuren and Children's Place has great ones. I also used to put him in khakis with a T-shirt or cotton shorts and a t-shirt. No onesies...

This is what we did. I found the Carters ones to run a little small though (if he was a size 9 months that summer, a 12 months in the rompers was ideal.

I bought a lot of these-I prefer one pieces or outfits with a onesie (a onesie type of shirt, not under a shirt) because I don't think it would be comfortable having your back or belly exposed or shirts riding up.
I have a few shirt/shorts outfits for him, but the majority are one pieces.

My son Chris was this age his first summer in 2007
I remember it was way too hot for a onesie underneath. Although I hear they sell tank top ones that would work
My absolute FAVE is one piece rompers. I bought a TON of Ralph Lauren ones at Century and Carters
They look put together and it is so easy for mommy as well

DS was that age last summer and I dressed him in short rompers. I LOVED them on him with his fat legs sticking out. I did not put an undershirt underneath.

No onesies. One pieces like above and shorts and t-shirts. I buy stuff like that at WalMart, Kmart, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc sometimes even consignment

I agree! RL had great ones last summer when ds was 5 & 6 months.
It was too hot for onesie's!

Besides the one piece outfits, I also put him in t-shirts, onesies or polos and shorts. I didn't layer in the warm weather.
