Homeowners SOUTH of Montauk Highway and Merrick Road- ALERT
Welp, it's true. All homes South of Montauk Highway from Merrick-East must be inspected before power can be restored. You must call your Town Hall or visit your town's website for information. I spent ALL day trying to get more info on this and it seems to be true.
Meanwhile, on 3 separate occasions today LIPA told me I was scheduled to have power by 11pm tonight. They don't know their asses from their elbows and I understand they are working hard.....But this is absolute ********.

For those in areas where there was water:
This is the information my mom is getting: Not sure if it will work. Still hearing so many different things.
(631)286-6642 (516)794-0400 (800)794-1468 are numbers to call to get a free electrician FEMA PAYS For then we will get put on a list with LIPA to reinstate power

I heard is too... My concern is that we will not get power until all the people on our line are inspected bc they cannot just turn on one house and not the next unless the ones with damage are snipped.... Right?

I just saw this on the news. They said it's due to flooding/salt water corroding the electrical components and causing fire. I'm sure it will take even longer because eif people are not staying at home, the home can not be inspected
