Home appraisals from the bank....
We are in this long drawn out process still and we gave the mortgage broker a cc for the bank appraisal fee. We see that our card was debited but when does the actual apprisal take place? Or if it did, when do we get back the appraisal amount??
Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I have no clue  .

Not a dumb question. The appraiser called my DH and I to make an appt. to come appraise our home literally the day of. I would call them and remind them. It may be an oversight on their part. Good luck!
Editted to say that I was speaking from a Seller's point of view.
But I would call them either way.

Usually the appraiser will collect at the door so I don't know why they took your CC number. You should ask your broker when it is being scheduled because you have to be there to let him or her in. You also have to request a copy of the appraisal from your broker
