Hiring question

I've been a teacher in Catholic school for a few years now. I have my Masters and I'm certified. If I sent my resume to some public schools (Queens) do you think I have a chance? I haven't done this in so long but would like to give it a try again.

Re: Hiring question

I believe the city is still on a hiring freeze for most subjects.

My AP told me certain areas are on a freeze.

Last I heard, all except Special Education were on a freeze, but it may have changed.

Re: Hiring question

Hmmm.....we keep interviewing non-DOE teachers. Maybe because we are still a newer school, although I thought we hired our limit of 40% non DOE,

Re: Hiring question

Do it. What do you have to lose?

That said, Queens is a competetive job market for most subjects.
