Hiring painters?

DH is contemplating hiring painters, rather than do it all himself.....we'd need the LR, BR and bath painted....Has anyone done this? Would you mind FM'ing me the price? I just wanted a ballpark figure.....Thanks!

it really depends on how much detial there is - crown molding, trim etc... but it was so much more expesive than i thought.... I would estimate about $1,500 a room but we had a ton of new molding that they had to caulk as well. That definitely adds to the price.

Re: Hiring painters?

We had our house painted for $3500. Living room, dining room, 3 bedrooms, hallways, foyer.

Definitely call around - some do it much cheaper than others. Some are just crazy expensive. Like I said - we had a ton of molding and trim and that really jacks up the price.....

Re: Hiring painters?

We had our house painted. He does all of our work. He did our Co-op in between tenants, and he did our house. We keep calling him when we change rooms over. Poor guy. I don't remember the exact price, but it wasn't that exorbitant. Definitely worth the price.

You can find guys in the pennysaver. But ask around. You'd be surprised how many people within your family probably know a painter and can recommend someone. And then you may even get a discount. Chat Icon
