Hiring a Bartender and/or waitress for a party...sugg?
Looking to hire someone to help bartender and maybe someone to help clear tables and help set up and serve the food for my DD's christening
Anyone know where I can begin to look?

My family has used this woman a few times. She is great. Comes early and makes things set up really nice. Cleans up wonderfully too. I ran out of soda and she ran to the store for me!

where's the party? a woman i work with does waitressing/cleaning on weekends. i think she charges $50 an hour. let me know if you want more info. shes in plainview

Not trying to crash, but we did this for DS#1's christening back in '08 and I actually regretted it. We hired two waitresses to help us at a hall we had rented and I found it to be a waste of money. By the time I had explained to them what needed to be done, how to do it, where everything was kept, etc....I felt like I (or my mom/aunts) could've done it all myself and kept the $400. JMO.

yes - my DH and I have been thinking the same thing...i have had 2 other christenings and 2 other 1st birthdays (all 75+ people) and havent used help yet - it was mostly my mom, my aunt and I..so I keep going back and forth as to whether I should or not..
the only reason I am even considering it is bec it is at a hall/rec room - where we have to bring it all in and straighten up after...
