High progesterone in early pregnancy?
I am only about 5 weeks pg, and just found out that my blood test at 3 1/2 weeks, my progesterone was high. It was what it should be for about 14 weeks. My beta hcg was within range. Could it be twins??? Or is it more the Hcg??

i cant specifically answer your question but i can say im having twins and never had high progesterone. my HCG was very high.

It is so hard to say..I had a high beta, but my progesteroe was very low.

As far as I know the higher the progesterone the better. I do know when I moved my clomid to 100 mg from 50 my progesterone shot way up. Progesterone is produced by the sac left when you O so it IS theoretically possible that you ovulated more than one egg and have more progesterone because of that. But that is just my layperson's opinion. Best of luck!

When I found out I was having twins my progesterone was 40 which I thought was pretty high. My beta was on the border of twins/singleton..341

I am guessing no...its more hcg and that isn't always so. but I bet its a healthy chuck a lunk! congrats!
