Hey ladies I already have a BF'ing question...

I get to join you I guess a second time... Connor Alexander joined our family on 9/12/06.

I already have a BF'ing question... I didn't have this issue in the hospital so I wasn't able to ask them for help.

At the hospital Connor ate about every 3 hours. He was fine with that. Now that we're home he wants to eat at least every hour. The staff at the hospital told me to feed him every 2-3 hours. I can't remember if I should feed him every time he "wants" to eat or not? I hate for him to cry, but if I continue to feed him every hour he's going to get used to it like Caiden did and never sleep. How is everyone else doing it? Feed on demand or just let him cry??? Thanks!

I fed on demand and it turned out to be like every 1.5 to 2 hours.

At thsi stage and its only IMO..you cannot let a baby cry...if he crying and he is hungry then you gotta feed him...rem their tummies are really small right now and can only handle so much at one time.

I felt for the first few weeks that I basically sat there with my bra undone!! but it was worth it as DD was gaining weight.

Hope it works out for you, hang in thereChat Icon

def feed on demand for now and see how he gains they, after a few weeks you will be able to start telling the difference between cries.

My ped recommended feeding on Demand where the nurses told me every 2-4 hours.

Been feeding on demand for 6 months. I never believed in letting her cry... If she wants food or comfort, she's got it! In the beginning some days seemed like every hour on the hour but now it can be anywhere from 2 - 4 hours. Congratulations Ma Ma Chat Icon

I feed on demand and sometimes it is every hour unfortunately. I think most lacatation nurses are strong advocates for feeding on demand.

Yes, in the beginning it seems that all you are doing is nursing, it's more than a full time job and I know it's not easy to feel tied down so much. It will space out more in a few months.

Yes, feed him on demand. In the hospital the baby was just sleepy from all of the medications you were given. He needs to eat so you should feed him.
