Help! Menu for my first big family get-together at my house!
Just bought a new house and having my whole immediate family over - 4 kids, 5 adults (7 if you include DH & I). I'm freaking here. I've lived in an apartment for YEARS and never had so many people over.
I was thinking brunch...is that a good idea? What would you do? I could get bagels...
should I get a platter with lunchmeats and they can make sandwiches?
Ugh I'm so clueless!

You could get a hero with potato salad and make a big green salad. That way you dont have to worry about the food.
I think lunch meat is a fine idea too

you can do bagels with a bunch of different spreads (egg salad, tuna salad, different flavored cream cheseses, etc.), and then some sides, potato salad, macaroni salad, things like that. I think that'd be super easy and still something everyone would enjoy.

oooh those ideas sound good!
Now I'm thinking I might do lunch though- knowing my family they'd never get out to NJ in time for brunch.
I was thinking of making penne a la vodka....what else could I serve with that? Garlic bread? Anything else?
