Help: February/March Coming home outfit

I need help--I don't know what to have for a coming home outfit. I'm due March 2nd and for my first he was born at the end of April, so it wasn't too cold.

I'm so confused--March is a crazy month and I'm thinking I'll deliver in February--'cause I went 2 weeks early for my 1st. I don't know how cold or hot it'll be? Not sure how heavy or how many layers I need for baby?

DS was born in February and the day we brought him home it was FRIGID. We only dressed him in a short sleeve onesie and a fleece footy one piece outfit with a hat. A blanket thrown on top of the car seat to walk to the car and that was it.

They are literally outside for like 20 seconds. You walk to your waiting warmed up car that is pulled up to the hospital doors and when you get home you run them inside. No need to go crazy...remember babies can overheat just as easily.

I gave birth during a huge rainstorm in March. It was cold, wet, windy, miserable.

DS was in a cotton flannel outfit (with mittens and feet) and hat.

I put him in the carrier, with this car seat cover (that covers his face when we are outside, but is very breathable)
Baby's Cozy World (got it target for 20 bucks)


I stuffed a warm blanket in there, because it was really cold. He was snug and perfect all the way home.
