Re: Help.. curl hair looking like a big curly poof

I too have curly hair and this is what works for me:

After I get out of the shower, I put a leave in conditioner in my hair, I use Paul Mitchel "The Conditioner" but you only need a dime size, then I use Matrix Curlife contouring milk. I then scrunch my hair and let it air dry completely, after it is completely or maybe 95% dry I flip my hair over and scrunch it again, but that is it, I don't touch it the rest of the day or use a hair dryer, I found that when I played too much with it or used a hair dryer it would frizz.

Kind of similar to PP. I wash my hair using either Deva Curl Low Poo or I just condition. I use Tresemme moisturizing curl conditioner or whatever that one is called. I wring out my wet hair in the shower as much as I can (just twist and wring it out using my hands while it’s soaking wet). Don’t take a towel to it EVER, not even to wrap it in. I use Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Leave-in conditioning cream. I flip my head, take a big dollop (about the size of a quarter) and smooth through 1/3 of my hair. Then do the same for the remaining 2/3 sections. I do use a towel BRIEFLY to scrunch the ends while it’s still flipped (or it drips too much on my clothes!). I flip my head back put a small amount of the cream on the top pieces, then try not to touch for a long time. I will do a flip occasionally and just shake it out, but try to touch it as little as possible as that totally makes it frizzy. My hair is pretty long and in long layers, so if your hair is shorter you probably need less cream.

HTH! I am finally working my curls on an everyday basis and it’s so much better! IMO the most important piece is not towel drying and the curl cream.
