Help!!! Attire help needed for dinner at Le Cirque followed by a housewarming party in the city....

DH is taking me to Le Cirque for our 2nd anniversary on Sat night. I've ALWAYS wanted to go and am super excited!! Problem is....we are going to BIL's "housewarming party" at his new apt in the city afterwards....I don't want to get super dressed up, b/c I'll look like a moron at the apt party.

Can I get away with dark jeans, fancy high heels, and a pretty Sky top (see "recent purchases thread") with a fancy handbag (Fendi)??

I don't want to wear a dress and be freezing my azz off (weather is supposed to be rainy and cold)....

Help!

ETA: thanks ladies...I've figured out my outfit. Pink Sky top with black pants. I'm going shopping today for a cool handbag to add to the "ensemble" Chat Icon

So funny...we're going to Le Cirque the following Saturday! I've never been there either but our friends go all the time. I don't think you need to wear a dress, per se.
Your outfit sounds perfect...I wouldn't change a thing! Have fun and happy anniversary!

Maybe you should wear black pants instead of jeans considering men have to wear a jacket and a tie.

Men just have to wear a jacket...no tie. I was thinking about black pants....stupid question, but does anyone wear black pants anymore? I hardly ever see women wearing them....maybe I'll have to bust them out for this occasion Chat Icon

awesome! i was there a couple times recently - food is obiously great

you can get away with anything really..

black wrap dress with great chunky jewlry and heels then change into flats for the housewarming party

you can wear work appropriate attire there as well

so wear an outfit you are comfortable in that you feel good in- im sure it will work for both

eta- how about a black pencil skirt instead of balck pants with a cool top

edited again- i didnt read the rainy part...
id probably not wear jeans. the palce has a stuffy feel - i do not think I would be comfortable wearing jeans

i hear ya on the black pants thing... people just wear jeans now.

But, I don't think you can really wear jeans to Le Cirque. If you had black jeans-- like, not jean-looking black, but black-black.. KWIM?

I have a pair of black skinny jeans, that I could get away with wearing with heels, etc. to a lot of places I couldn't wear regular jeans.

I wouldn't do regular jeans to Le Cirque...It's a bit stuffy for jeans...I think black pants are always a good call, or a black wrap dress as someone else suggested.

When we went out to dinner there I wore black pants and heels. The majority of women had on the same or skirts/dresses.

I like the idea of black pants. Those are my favorite. They are still in. Such a staple for a wardrobe.

I also like the idea of flat shoes with black pants or dress/skirt then dressing it up with heels/jewerly and a nice jacket.
