Health Insurance Issue/Question

so Jake's neck doctor is making him pay cash b/c some of the cortizone injections he got over the summer weren't covered under our OLD insurance- I have no problem paying for these....

but now we have new insurance and he still wont take it

I am so annoyed- I pay alot of money for Jake to be covered- and I feel like this couldn't be legal

any ideas?

call your insurance company and see if there is a doc that is covered under your plan

Are you saying that you want to have him bill the old bills to the new insurance carrier- ? Becuase that cannot be done legally. I would call up your new insurance and find out what is covered and then switch to a doctor that is just as good. HTH

If he is not in the network it is legal....do you have any out of network coverage?

Dr's can do anything they want basically.

It's up to you if you choose to continue to see him or find a more ethical one who will work with the insurance.

A lot of Dr's do this. Its not right, but they can do it.

I wouldnt put up with it...thats why you pay such high premiums to have insurance....Find a Dr. who is willing to accept the insurance payment, there are plenty of them.

I found out the issue- they submitted claims under our OLD number- after we already had a new one

( same company)

everything is resolved- they are fixing it- there mistake but the Dr thought Jake didn't have insurance and that was the issue- and of course Jake never asked the right questions!
