Have you ever had a spray tan?

I am in a wedding in June and I am pale as a ghost. The dress is strapless and t-length and is unflattering to begin with on my body shape so I though a tan might help. If Im in the sun for more than 5 minutes I burn so that removes laying out and tanning beds are even worse....so I wanted to try a spray tan. Im off all week this week...so I figured if it was horrible it would fade by the time I had to go back. I don't want to just try it right before my friends wedding and ruin her pictures even more. What has been everyone's experience?

Re: Have you ever had a spray tan?

I've done the spray tan and it works really well. Go the day before the wedding and shower the day of so the excess comes off. I've also used Neutragena Tanning Foam which works great. I'm like you, really pale and burn in the sun or tanning beds. I would suggest to skip the spray and do the Neutragena. Do it the day before because it has a built in bronzer to show you where you've applied it and it will come off on your clothes if you're not careful.

Good luck.

I suggest going actually "tanning" before. Either in a tanning salon OR at the beach..i feel sometimes its a bit orangey if you just go straight from nothing to spray tan...

I did and I loved it, but the gush of wind that came out of the machine took my breath away, literally. Are they all like this? Chat Icon

I think they are all the same. The biggest problem I had with the spray tan was getting the coverage on my back even and not streaky. I dont' know about the one that you all went to, but the one I went to gave me a towel and told me to use that to rub it on my back. Never gave me even coverage there.

I've done Mystic Tan a few times and it works really well. I recommend exfoliating before you go because if you have dry patches of skin they will look a little orangy.

I've done it...and I liked the results...but for my own wedding I used the tradtional tanning bed...I didn't want to risk being streaky for my wedding.

Re: Have you ever had a spray tan?

my gym does it and I loved the results!! you don't go into a machine - one of the gym employees sprays you, so it came out totally even and not orangey at all.

it lasted a good 10 - 14 days!

I did it for my wedding (I had done a trial before) and recommend it. I went to a spa where someone did it personally, not the machine one. People asked me all night where I had gone tanning, it looked very real!

Re: Have you ever had a spray tan?

I had one and I had a big white triangle on my arse for 2 months from the disposible undies. It was so messy, I made the mistake of doing it during my lunch hour and I couldn't touch anyone for the rest of the day, I stuck to the chair and it was horrible! Most of it washed off in the shower and it looked okay, but I personally wouldn't do it again.

However, I do have a very funny picture of my arse with a big white triangle on it. I used t stick it into powerpoint presentations I did at work and it was always a crowd pleaser.
