Have you ever considered someone or a group of people better friends than they have considered you?

How did you feel about their friendship once you realized this?

This happened to me recently and I'm honestly not sure what to make of the situation. Chat Icon

I thought I was good friends with these people and now to find this out... Well, like I said, I just don't know what to make of it.

I know they have spoken about things and kept me out of "the loop" on purpose. Why? I don't know.

I don't know if I've ever done something to offend them or what, I just know certain things have been discussed that for some reason or another they have felt I did not need to know about.

I understand that sometimes when there's a large group of friends they all don't necessarily include everyone in a topic of discussion for various reasons but still, it stung...

I'll say this much, I'm hurt by it but really what can I do about it?

I've certainly been there, and I agree it stings. Not sure if there's anything you can really do, but I guess there are 2 options. Either a) try even harder to win them over and turn them around or b) drop them and move on to other friends.

The only thing you can do is let them know how you feel. If they are true friends they will see they were wrong and not do it again.

This happened to me, but I was much, much younger. Jr. High, actually. At the time, I cut ties with that group because I felt that I couldn't trust them after I realized, but later on, "re-friended" one of them, and 20+ years later, we're still very close - and I trust her.

If it were to happen now, I don't know what I would do, other than pull myself back emotionally, if that makes sense.

In any case, I know how much it hurts, and wanted to offer Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

that seems very childish to me. sounds like something that happens in junior high or high school. i mean im 29 years old and i love my friends, but nothing they do or say is so important to me that i would fret over it. if they leave me out, their loss...it wont be as much fun if im not there!Chat Icon Chat Icon

dont let them bug you. they/he/she seem very childish and ask yourself this "do you REALLY want people like that around?". i know i dont.

I am going to talk to them about it. Their friendship means alot to me, obviously, otherwise I wouldn't have cared that I was kept "out of the loop" so to speak.

Thanks for the feedback ladies!
