Have you been asked to watch kids during your pregnancy?
I'm 1 week shy of 7 months and have been asked twice to babysit. Haven't been asked in a LOOONG time, and am finding it VERY strange how I'm being asked now...back to back? One friend asked me to watch her son who is 3 in the morning for a few hours, knowing that I'm having a dinner party in the evening, that she is attending. The other is 5, and I'm being asked to watch him possibly over night. They both aren't bad....but both are very hyper.
Am I the only one who finds this strange? I almost feel like my friends are testing me. My son is 16 and I haven't really babysat for a while..but I don't know that I'm comfortable with babysitting right now.
Is this wrong of me???

It's not so much that I'm not feeling up to it...but just the fact that they are both hyper. The 5 year old is not bad at all..he comes with his video games and he's busy, doesn't even know I'm alive unless he wants food. The 3 year old...well..he's a different story. My main problem with that was having to watch him in the morning for a few hours..when I have all this running around to do for that evening (5pm).

I had this same issue a few months ago with my cousin - except she wanted me to watch her three boys (2 twins who are 3 1/2 and 1 who just turned 2) indefinetaly until the summer EVERY SINGLE Wednesday and Friday.
That was not happening. It caused a little rift between us but all is good now thank god.
I think that you need a lot of energy to take care of kids - it's different when it's your own but I still don't think I would ask someone who is 7 months preggo unless it was an absolute emergency!

I only watch school aged kids...but being a stay at home mom you tend to get asked all the time any way..My neighbors and I have a pretty good network going..there is always someone home if you need a sitter...

not while i'm pg, but my sister seemed to think i could watch her 11 month old a few days a week, while i was home with a newborne. not happening. and it was nuts that she asked me in the first place.
