Has it really been 8 years?
Since Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed were killed? 
This accident really hit home b/c my older stepsister was in a horrific accident the same day.

I can't believe it either. I remember I was sitting on the patio at the Rose and Thistle Bar in Huntington when someone came out and told everyone. It seemed so unreal.
I just visited her house, Kensington Palace, in London and the gates still had tributes, flowers, and pictures of her for her birthday in July.

I'd been in the city to see my brother's band play, and while going home something happened on the Williamburg Bridge. I sat on the bridge for an hour, and I figured there would be a story about a jumper or a bad accident the next day. When I got home I was glued to the TV for hours. And of course whatever happened on the bridge was overshadowed (and it may not have been newsworthy anyway).
